7 March 2017: A France special with Fred Ducrozet and Gianluca Orefice

Today on Morning Macro, Fred Ducrozet returns to the show to talk us through the latest developments in France’s dramatic presidential election campaign. Also featuring a look ahead to Thursday’s ECB decision, where Fred foresees a slight concession to the more hawkish board members.

In the second half of the show, Sigrún talks to Gianluca Orefici of the CEPII institute in France, about a new piece of research by him and two colleagues on the impact of immigration on productivity levels in France. With immigration playing such a central role in France’s politics right now, the paper could not be better timed.
